The famous Viñales valley of Pinar Del Rio province in Cuba is a world heritage site and a source of tobacco for many of the finest cigar manufacturers. We decided to pay tribute to this valley by capturing it in a beautiful marquetry. Photos of the crafting of this marquetry can be seen in the humidor features page.
The humidor features spanish cedar lining with mahogany walls, lid and bottom. The veneer is high quality figured sapele and the edge bindings are made of snakewood which is a very hard wood and in addition to being decorative, it protects the edges from dents. A useful feature considering the humidor will last for generations with proper care.
The lid’s hardware configuration is also done with longevity in mind, with large full mortise hinges and large lid stay there is very little stress on the wood when opening and closing the lid.
The escutcheon for the sturdy german made lock is CNC machined from stainless steel, mirror polished and gold plated. The decorations and logo on the escutcheon are hand engraved and reflect the uniqueness of the humidor. The lid features German made precision analog hygrometer with Conocedor logo and USA made bead humidifiers. More info about these and other features can be found on the humidor features page.
